Each award category will go through two judging processes.
The first judging panel will comprise a panel of three subject matter experts and will be chaired by a Chief Executive Officer from a Northern Territory Government department.
The second judging process will consist of seven judging panels (one for each category) and three judges to evaluate the presentations for each award.
Each panel will consist of three members from the CEO Coordination Committee.
Each panel’s role is to evaluate all the submissions in the seven categories. The objective of this evaluation process is to determine the degree to which the initiative/project meets the category specific criteria and general criteria.

Who is eligible to apply for an award?
All teams and work groups in the Northern Territory Public Sector.
Who is eligible to be nominated for a medal?
All current Northern Territory Public Sector employees.
Can an award initiative/project be submitted to multiple categories?
No. Initiatives/projects cannot be entered into more than one category. If a nomination has been received in a category that is best suited to a different category judges may move the nomination to the correct category. You will be notified if this is the case.
If an award initiative/project was not successful in a previous year can it be resubmitted?
Yes. Submissions presented for an award in previous years that did not win may be resubmitted, where improvement against the award criteria can be demonstrated.
Multi-agency award submission: who should complete the submission?
For multi-agency submissions the lead agency involved should complete a single entry form and have it signed by that agency's Chief Executive.
Does the award initiative/project have to be completed before submitting a submission?
No. Submissions for current or ongoing projects can be submitted. Agencies are best suited to determine the extent to which the initiative/project meets the criteria.
Will an extension be considered?
No. Due to significant event planning late submissions will not be accepted and extensions cannot be granted after the closing date.

Can I go over the word count?
No. A maximum word count has been set up in sections throughout the awards template; if the word count exceeds the maximum word count it will not be accepted or judged.
Who are the judges?

Each panel consists of mainly CEOs. Each panel’s role is to evaluate all submissions in the seven categories. The objective of this evaluation process is to determine the degree to which the initiative/project meets the category specific criteria and general criteria.
Medals – the judging panel comprises members of the Executive Remuneration Review Panel, that is, a number of agency Chief Executives and the Commissioner for Public Employment. The medal nomination assessment process is to determine the most meritorious and deserving submissions.
The judging panel's recommendations will be submitted to the Chief Minister of the Northern Territory for final approval.
The decision of the judging panel and Chief Minister is final and cannot be appealed.
What happens with my award submission after lodging?
Three nominations for each category will be shortlisted by the Subject Matter Expert judging panels. Following the shortlist process and if your submission is shortlisted, you will be informed of a time and date to present your project/initiative.
Each shortlisted submission will present to a judging panel comprising of three CEO Coordination Committee (CoOrd) members. The team will be able to explain the project/initiative and give the panel the opportunity to ask questions.
After the judging of each presentation, each judging panel will select the finalists and winner in each category.
Winners in each category will be announced at the presentation event.
Will medal recipients be notified before the presentation event?
Yes. Medal recipients will receive a congratulatory letter from the Chief Minister of the Northern Territory before the presentation event.
When will winners be announced?
Award finalists and winners along with medal recipients will be announced by the Chief Minister of the Northern Territory at the presentation event.
Photographs are taken at the presentation event. Agencies and their guests must agree to the photographs and details of their initiative to be used in the promotion of the awards.
